Camping FAQ

Camping locations

It is permissible to set up camp at Thoresby; however, we kindly request that you refrain from parking any vehicles, caravans, or erecting tents and other temporary structures beneath the lush canopy of trees on the property or on any adjacent land surrounding the event field. Your cooperation in preserving the natural beauty of this exquisite location is greatly appreciated.

Can I have a barbecue

The Thoresby Estate has instituted a strict prohibition against the lighting of any fires, including barbecues, in light of the exceptionally hot and arid conditions that characterise the summer months. This decision has been made with the utmost consideration for the safety and well-being of all visitors and residents alike. We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy, as it is designed to protect the serene beauty of the estate and ensure a safe environment for everyone.

Departure Times

It is imperative that all vehicles, tents, and trailers be vacated from Thoresby Estate by 10:00 on the morning of Monday, August 4th. We kindly request that you ensure the site is left in the pristine condition in which you discovered it, reflecting the utmost respect for this beautiful environment.

Dogs

It is imperative that dogs remain on a short lead at all times, ensuring both their safety and the comfort of those around them. We kindly urge you to carry an ample supply of waste bags to maintain cleanliness and courtesy during your walks, as responsible pet ownership is a reflection of your character. Furthermore, it is crucial to never leave dogs unattended in a locked vehicle or caravan, as the risk of windows being forcibly broken to rescue the animal is a serious concern that should never be overlooked.

Do I have to purchase an entry ticket

Camping tickets do not include entry into Morris Fest.  An additional charge of £15 per vehicle for the weekend is also payable.

How many tents/caravan/motorhomes can I book

It is imperative that your colored entry ticket is prominently displayed within the windscreen of your vehicle at all times. Upon your arrival at Morris Fest, you will receive your entry ticket, which serves as confirmation of your payment. This measure is essential to guarantee that all campers on the premises have fulfilled their payment obligations. We are pleased to offer ample space for your enjoyment, and it is important to note that payment is required for each tent, caravan, or motorhome. This policy is in place to ensure the continued success of our event, allowing us to provide an exceptional experience for all attendees.

Rubbish

We have thoughtfully positioned an ample number of refuse containers across the event grounds, and we kindly request your cooperation in maintaining the pristine condition of the venue by ensuring that all waste is disposed of within these designated containers. Should you encounter a full container, we encourage you to seek out another available container and promptly notify the Event Marshal of the situation. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated, as it contributes to the overall elegance and enjoyment of the event.

Toilets

During the enchanting days and evenings from Friday, August 1st, until the clock strikes 09:00 on Monday, August 4th, exclusive event single plastic toilets will be at your disposal for your convenience. However, please be advised that the Artist luxury toilet trailer will only be accessible during the hours of 08:00 – 23:00 due to the noise from the generator.

Vehicle Movement

The Courtyard, situated adjacent to the tank and the public pay machine, is designated as a pedestrian area from 10:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. each day, during which time vehicular traffic is strictly prohibited. It is imperative to maintain unobstructed access on all roads within the Thoresby Estate at all times.
